Sux0r 2.0 Final - A Celebration Of The Concept

By conner_bw on 2008-10-29 18:02:34

After a month of beta testing and minor fixes, I'm ready to call this endeavor 2.0 FINAL. A new Dutch translation by Peter van Es for good measure.

To celebrate I'm going to check out Omen's art show, then Stereo Image, then I'm going to drink a pint at Blizzarts. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

sux0r 2.0 Beta3 Now Available

By conner_bw on 2008-10-18 15:12:19

This release includes cache related bugfixes, OpenID related bugfixes, generic bugfixes, and a German translation by Niklas Pluem. Thanks Niklas!

If all goes well, this is the last beta before sux0r 2.0 final.

If you want to submit translations and don't want them to sit in CVS indefinitely, please submit your language files before the end of the month.

Also, if you're a coder and are interested in the project, maybe you can help me with the technical documentation for 2.0 final?

Todo: Life

By conner_bw on 2008-10-14 19:39:25

A bunch of CVS changes fixing several caching issues were checked-in over the weekend. I'm going to keep slugging away at the code while I wait for a few more translation files. If all goes well "2.0 final" should be the next release. If any of the contacts who emailed me about translation are reading, it'd be great to get them before next week.

In non-sux0r related news: I will be attending TikiFest Montreal 2008 next month. I'll be checking out Jerusalem In My Heart and Survival Japanese Cooking at the MAI. And i'll be working on some music for the Renoise 2 Beta Music Competition in my spare time.

sux0r 2.0 Beta2 Now Available

By conner_bw on 2008-10-09 14:36:28

This release includes support for PostgreSQL 8.3, a Chinese translation (ch_ZN), and bugfixes.

I have decided that MySQL and PostgreSQL is enough work for one person as it is, so I won't be adding INSERT_YOUR_FAVOURITE_HERE. If you want other databases supported I encourage you to write the code and submit patches.

Download here.

PS: Still in beta, still soliciting translations and feedback.

Codefest 2.2 executive summary: My bike was stolen, I can't lift my left arm anymore, and three pitchers of Boréale Noire for the road. Mission accomplshed!

In all seriousness I spent two days working on sux0r PostgreSQL integration while hobnobbing with smart people working on projects such as PHP Quebec, TikiWiki and Identi.ca. Enriching and productive as expected.

On top of that, chinese translations (ch_ZN) have been submitted by wangzhenzhen. I will be integrating the translations into the next release. Thanks wangzhenzhen!

CodeFest 2.2 + Thank You Network Redux

By conner_bw on 2008-10-02 13:27:52

I'm going to be at Montreal's Codefest 2.2 this weekend working on sux0r 2.0. Theme: optimization and unit testing.

A bunch of dudes and dudettes drinking and coding for 2 days straight. I've been to another CodeFest before and met several regional Open Source intelligentsia. I am humbled in their presence but the experience is enriching, productive, and good times. See you there?

In other news, Network Redux i.e. the best web hosting company I've ever dealt with is sponsoring sux0r with a virtual private server. I'll be setting that up in the next few days. Thanks for the support! Good things to come.
